An opportunity has arrived on Ward 109 for a staff nurse to join out team.

Ward 109 is a 26 bedded surgical area, caring for elective surgical patients pre and post operatively, with emergency surgical patients pending diagnosis.

Ward 109 is a busy surgical environment, and requires the post holder to be effective in team working, have a keen interest in surgical nursing, to be resilient, and to deliver care with compassion.

To work in conjunction with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure we give gold standard care, to our patients in line with our care pathways. To use professional communication to obtain best patient outcomes.

There are many key surgical skills that make 109 an interesting area given the patient group we care for.

We offer in excellent induction and opportunity to attend study to enhance knowledge in the upper and lower GI surgical nursing.

If you wish to join a dynamic team and support in the care we give to our service users daily, this could be the team for you.

The post holder will work clinically and work in line with our trust policy and procedures.

Given we are a surgical ward you will plan, implement and evaluate care, and have the ability to critically think to achieve best patient outcomes, and escalate outcomes using key pathways include sepsis management.

Nursing procedures such as ANTT, pain management and pre an post operative care is a few of the skills required for the role.

Do you have the ability to care with dignity, compassion and be able to show empathy ?

There is the expectation to manage time effectively, to have effective communications with patients and their relatives, and the ability to work within the team, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
