We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Furniture Sales Consultant to join our retail team. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing exceptional service to customers, assisting them in selecting the perfect furniture pieces to suit their needs and preferences. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong communication skills and a passion for sales within the furniture industry. The role involves engaging with customers, understanding their requirements, and guiding them through our product range with professionalism and enthusiasm.
Alongside face to face engagement, we run a very busy social media campaign in which sales staff are involved on a day to day basis to attract customers to store, experience with social media and I.T. in general is highly desirable.

- Greet customers warmly and establish rapport to create a welcoming shopping environment
- Assist customers in selecting furniture items that meet their needs and preferences
- Provide detailed product information, including features, materials, and care instructions.
- Maintain visual merchandising standards to ensure attractive product displays
- Process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system
- Organise stock levels and ensure the showroom remains tidy and well-presented
- Handle customer enquiries via phone or in person with excellent phone etiquette
- Manage time effectively to balance multiple customer interactions throughout the day
- Collaborate with team members to achieve maximum sales and improve overall store performance.
- Post and answer social media enquiries.
- Lifting during shop preparation is sometimes required.
Experience
- Previous experience in furniture retail is essential.
- Strong understanding of emails, SharePoint and social media platforms.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions and measurements accurately
- Knowledge of merchandising principles to assist in creating appealing displays
- Ability to demonstrate effective time management and organisational skills in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with upselling techniques and understanding customer needs to enhance sales opportunities

- Demonstrate product features and benefits to enhance customer understanding and interest.
- Negotiate prices and terms with customers to close sales effectively while maintaining profitability.
- Manage customer enquiries both in-store and via digital channels, providing timely and accurate information.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients through follow-up communications, fostering repeat business.
- Coordinate with delivery teams to ensure smooth scheduling and fulfilment of orders.
- Keep the sales floor organised, clean, and well-stocked to create an inviting shopping environment.
- Utilise IT systems efficiently for inventory management, order processing, and customer records.
- Drive sales growth through B2B (business-to-business) interactions where applicable, expanding our client base.
Skills
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to close sales effectively while ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to engage confidently with diverse clients.
- Proven experience in customer service within a retail or sales environment.
- Ability to drive confidently and maintain a valid driving licence for local travel when required.
- Proficiency in IT systems relevant to retail operations, including point-of-sale software and inventory management tools.
- Effective time management skills to prioritise tasks efficiently during busy periods.
- Organisational skills that enable maintaining an orderly sales environment and managing multiple client interactions simultaneously.
- Experience or familiarity with B2B sales processes is advantageous but not essential. Pay: £24,420.00-£45,000.00 per year
