Oxford Population Health (Nuffield Department of Population Health) contains world-renowned population health research groups and provides an excellent environment for multi-disciplinary research and teaching. The department has around 1000 staff, students and academic visitors working in a number of world-renowned population health research groups to investigate the causes and prevention of disease and lead human health forward.

The Department is seeking to recruit an Administrative Officer to support the MPH (Master of Public Health) in Public Health Research programme and provide comprehensive administrative support to the Course Director(s). Reporting to the Graduate Studies Manager, the post holder will support all aspects of course administration, admissions, examinations and student-related processes, while ensuring the efficient delivery of administrative services across the programme. The role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities within a busy academic environment.

You will coordinate a range of administrative activities across the programme lifecycle, including supporting admissions and examinations, organising meetings and academic events, maintaining course documentation and updating the virtual learning environment and departmental webpages. Responsibilities also include drafting correspondence, circulating committee papers and minutes, monitoring financial administrative processes and providing guidance to students and staff on University procedures and regulations. You will liaise closely with academics, students and professional services teams to support the effective delivery of the programme.

You will have previous relevant administrative experience, including experience of supporting courses, events or training programmes. Excellent communication and organisational skills, the ability to manage competing deadlines and strong attention to detail are essential. You will also demonstrate strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems, together with experience in a customer-facing environment. Experience of graduate administration, eVision and Canvas would be desirable.

The post is full-time (part-time considered) and fixed-term for 2 years.
