Job Overview
We are looking for a talented, reliable, and passionate Chef/Cook to join our friendly café team. Our café serves speciality coffee, freshly prepared breakfasts and lunches and popular chippy favourites. The successful candidate will take pride in producing high-quality food, bringing new ideas to the menu, and maintaining excellent standards in a busy kitchen environment.
This is a daytime position with no evening shifts and no Sunday work, offering an excellent work-life balance. Flexible hours are available and will be discussed at interview.
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook a variety of breakfast, lunch, homemade daily specials, and chippy-style menu items to a high standard.
Ensure all food is prepared, presented, and served consistently and efficiently.
Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness in line with current regulations.
Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering ingredients and kitchen supplies as required.
Work closely with the front-of-house team and cook assistant to ensure smooth and efficient service.
Contribute ideas for new dishes, specials, and menu development.
Assist with catering orders and special events when required.
Requirements
Previous experience as a Chef/Cook, in a busy kitchen is essential.
Strong food preparation and cooking skills.
Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
A positive attitude and ability to work well as part of a team.
Passion for producing quality homemade food and delivering excellent customer experiences.
Reliable, hardworking, and organised.
