We are seeking an experienced Temporary Works Coordinator to join our dynamic team. We are seeking an experienced and highly competent Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) to join our team on a large-scale, high-profile construction scheme. This is a critical role responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient management of all temporary works activities across the project lifecycle.
Job type: Contract, Full time, Part time
Working hours: 07:30 – 17:00 (Monday to Friday)
Site location: Various site locations, Head Office in Aston
About the role
You will work closely with site teams, designers, and subcontractors to ensure that all temporary works are properly planned, designed, implemented, and dismantled in accordance with industry best practice and statutory requirements.
Key responsibilities
· Oversee and coordinate all temporary works operations on the project in accordance with BS 5975
· Function as the appointed Temporary Works Coordinator, ensuring full compliance with procedures and controls
· Review and approve temporary works designs, risk assessments, and method statements (RAMS)
· Ensure that all designs are checked, signed off, and implemented correctly before use
· Maintain an up-to-date temporary works register and ensure all documentation is properly controlled
· Liaise with designers, site managers, subcontractors, and engineers to ensure safe integration of temporary works
· Coordinate inspections and ensure permit-to-load / permit-to-strike systems are rigorously applied
· Identify and mitigate risks associated with temporary works activities
· Provide guidance and support to Temporary Works Supervisors (TWS) and site teams
· Conduct site audits and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
· Lead investigations into any incidents or non-conformances related to temporary works
Essential requirements
· Proven experience as a Temporary Works Coordinator on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects
· Strong knowledge of BS 5975 and temporary works procedures
· Relevant engineering or construction qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent)
· Valid TWC certification (CITB or equivalent)
· Demonstrable experience managing complex temporary works systems (e.g., shoring, propping, scaffolding, falsework, excavation support, etc.)
· Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills
· Ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced project environment
· CSCS card and knowledge of UK construction health & safety regulations
Desirable qualifications & experience
· Chartered or working towards professional status (ICE, IStructE, CIOB, etc.)
· Major project or Tier 1 contractor experience
· Experience in [sector: rail / highways / energy / commercial build – tailor as needed
· Relevant engineering or construction qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent)
· CITB SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) for site managers
· Valid TWC certification (CITB or equivalent)
