Responsibilities
- Refurbishing laptops/desktops and apple devices
- Installing operating systems
- Testing hardware components
- Stripping laptops/desktops to component level for resale
- Replacing various parts to make working machines again.
- Removing BIOS passwords using various methods.
- Communicating with customers regarding orders and any issues they may have.
- Time management – ensuring not too long is spent on faulty devices.
This paid apprenticeship provides valuable hands-on experience in a supportive environment designed to foster growth in IT skills while contributing meaningfully to organisational objectives.
Training
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Your training plan
The classroom training for the Information Communications Technician comprises of 4 modules. The apprentice will attend the training in an online classroom with their designated JBC trainer.
The modules taught are:
- Network Fundamentals
- Mobility and Operating Systems
- Cloud Fundamentals
- IT Business Principles
Each module is delivered remotely over five consecutive days, with the training weeks scheduled at intervals throughout the apprenticeship.

- We are a government approved apprenticeship training provider. We provide apprenticeships for a wide range of employers, large and small.
- Some of your working hours will be spent training or studying with your appointed JBC Trainer/Mentor or your employer. Learning the skills you need to be successful in the role and complete the apprenticeship.
- You will have a progress review with your trainer and line manager every three months, along with regular support sessions to help you develop your portfolio.

About the employer
our client is an IT Asset Disposal company. They were born out of the necessity to enable companies to dispose of their redundant IT equipment without compromising data security, following the WEEE Directive and the service costing the earth. Allowing their clients to concentrate on what you do best.
After this apprenticeship
May lead to a permanent position at the end of the apprenticeship.
Pay: £16,575.00 per year
