Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive Quality Controller Supervisor on a temporary basis to cover maternity leave. The Quality Controller Supervisor will oversee quality assurance activities across our food production site. Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will lead and develop the QA/QC team, ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, legal and customer requirements while driving continuous improvement throughout the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, supervise and develop the Quality Control team.
- Ensure compliance with BRCGS, GMP, HACCP, food safety legislation and customer specifications.
- Conduct audits, inspections, traceability exercises, mass balance checks and quality assessments across the site.
- Investigate non-conformances, implement corrective actions and liaise with suppliers where required.
- Support internal and external audits and deputise for the Quality Manager when necessary.
- Manage microbiological and organoleptic sampling programmes and maintain accurate quality records.
- Collaborate with production, engineering and hygiene teams to drive quality improvements and resolve issues.
- Coordinate export requirements, customer sample requests and label approval processes.
- Monitor hygiene, maintenance and prohibited item procedures to ensure full site compliance.
About You:
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing quality leadership role is desirable
- Strong knowledge of BRCGS, GMP, HACCP and food safety legislation.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Organised, self-motivated and able to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong people management skills with experience coaching, developing and supporting teams.
