Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Landscape Technician to join our team and contribute to maintaining and enhancing outdoor environments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong interest in horticulture and construction, with practical experience in landscape maintenance. This role offers an opportunity to work outdoors in a dynamic setting, applying a variety of skills to ensure the highest standards of landscape presentation and health. The successful applicant will be responsible for executing routine maintenance tasks, operating specialised equipment, and supporting larger landscaping projects.
Responsibilities
- Carry out landscape maintenance activities including mowing, pruning, planting, fertilising, and weed control to ensure healthy and attractive outdoor spaces.
- Operate power tools such as trimmers, blowers, and lawn mowers safely and efficiently.
- Use hand tools for planting, digging, trimming, and other gardening tasks.
- Handle mechanical equipment including excavators and irrigation systems for installation and repair purposes.
- Assist with construction activities related to landscape projects, ensuring safety and precision during installation or renovation works.
- Conduct routine inspections of irrigation systems and perform necessary maintenance or repairs to optimise water efficiency.
- Support the setup and breakdown of landscaping sites, ensuring cleanliness and organisation throughout the process.
- Follow health and safety protocols at all times to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
Skills
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance or gardening.
- Mechanical knowledge related to gardening equipment and construction machinery such as excavators.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and specialised landscaping equipment.
- Knowledge of irrigation systems installation, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Strong understanding of horticulture principles including plant care, soil management, and pest control.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Physical fitness to perform manual labour including lifting heavy objects and working on uneven terrain.
