You know D365 F&O Finance the way a can of WD-40 knows friction — not just where it shows up, but what's causing it underneath, and exactly what it takes to get things moving again. You've configured it, stress-tested it, and handed it over to finance teams who actually rely on it every day. If that's you, WD-40 Company has a role that's worth your attention.
WD-40 Company is in the middle of a major global ERP transformation, rolling out Microsoft Dynamics 365 across multiple markets including the UK, Europe, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific. We're looking for a D365 Implementation Specialist to own the Finance technical workstream.
You'll work as a genuine partner to our Finance Business Process Lead — they define what the business needs, you make D365 deliver it. That means translating Finance process requirements into configurations that actually work: chart of accounts design, financial dimensions, posting profiles, period close, reporting, integrations, and everything in between. You'll participate in fit-gap analysis, lead technical design sessions, build and execute test scripts, and stay through hypercare to make sure what you built holds up in production.
Europe is the biggest and most complex implementation on the horizon. One warehouse, multiple countries, meaningfully different tax schemes, e-invoicing mandates, and regulatory variation across markets. If that kind of complexity sounds like a problem worth solving, read on.
Responsibilities:
- Own the D365 F&O Finance technical workstream — configuration, design, testing, and hypercare — for the UK and European implementation.
-
Partner with the Finance Business Process Lead to translate process requirements into D365 solutions. You own the how; they own the what.
-
Lead technical fit-gap analysis and system design sessions, ensuring the D365 configuration meets business requirements without unnecessary customisation.
-
Configure and validate Finance modules — GL, financial dimensions, AP/AR, period close, reporting structures, and related integrations.
-
Design and execute system integration testing (SIT) and support user acceptance testing (UAT), including defect resolution.
-
Navigate localization requirements across European markets — tax schemes, e-invoicing mandates, currency handling, and regulatory compliance. These are not afterthoughts; they are core to this implementation.
-
Work with the enterprise architect on end-to-end design and integration standards.
-
Support hypercare post go-live — this is an implementation role, not a production support role. You'll be there through stabilisation, then move to the next market.
-
Contribute to agile planning cycles and keep your workstream visible, documented, and on track.
-
This role involves international travel. Europe is the next major implementation on the horizon, and the complexity is real — regulatory variation, e-invoicing mandates, and cross-border tax schemes. If navigating that sounds energising rather than exhausting, you'll fit right in.
Qualifications:
- Deep, hands-on D365 F&O Finance implementation experience — configuration, not just project participation. 7+ years is desired. 5 is the floor.
-
Proven delivery across multiple Finance modules: GL, financial dimensions, posting profiles, AP/AR, period close, financial reporting. You know where the complexity hides.
-
Multi-country or European implementation experience — specifically, you understand that tax schemes, e-invoicing requirements, and regulatory structures differ meaningfully across markets and you've had to design for that.
-
Experience working alongside Business Process Leads or functional counterparts — you're comfortable in the partnership model and can hold the technical lane without overreaching into process decisions.
-
Familiarity with OTC processes and where they connect to Finance in D365 is a genuine plus. Not required, but the boundary between AR configuration and OTC transaction flow gets fuzzy, and you should not be surprised when it does.
-
Strong documentation and communication habits — you're working with finance stakeholders who need to trust your configuration decisions, and with a BPL who needs to understand what you've built.
-
Experience with Microsoft implementation methodology and agile delivery practices.
