Job Purpose
As a Cleaning operative you will be responsible for maintaining all aspects of site hygiene, inside and out, ensuring the site hygiene standards are to the highest levels whilst working in a safe and efficient manner.

Principle Accountabilities
· Efficiency
- i. Ensure hygiene tasks are carried out in an efficient and timely manner
- ii. Respond to site spillages in a timely and effective manner
· Productivity
- i. Ensure set targets are achieved
- ii. Achieve site instructed cleaning schedules
- iii. Reduce all waste type (See Flamingo LEAN)
· Administration
- i. Ensure any chemicals used on site are in conjunction with site COSHH policy
- ii. Carry out stock takes and order products as required with Supervisor
- iii. Receive and check deliveries and report any discrepancies
- iv. To collate stock requests for Weston site
- v. To ensure you are wearing the correct work wear/PPE
- vi. To follow all standard operating procedures (SOP’s)/Safe Systems of Work (SSOW).
- vii. Carry out site hygiene audits
· People
To support other key staff with the following
- i. To report disciplinary issues to your supervisor.
- ii. To train new cleaners for holiday and peak cover
- iii. To assist colleagues in the development of the wider team to reach their full potential, through communication, coaching and identifying training needs.
· Flexibility and Attendance
- i. To support & work with other teams as and when required.
· Hygiene and Housekeeping
- ii. Ensure all welfare block (including smoking shelter) areas are cleaned to the required schedules in an efficient and timely manner
- iii. Assist with the Hygiene of all the lines, including all the machinery & surrounding area is maintained at the highest level
- iv. Follow and promote the site ‘clean as you go’ policy
- v. Carry out floor scrubbing duties as required
- vi. Ensure all waste is removed from the building in the correct waste containers
- vii. Ensure spillages are made safe and cleaned in a timely manner
- viii. Maintain all outside areas ensuring the highest standards
· Health and Safety
- i. Take reasonable care for your own health & safety and that of others who may be affected by your actions.
- ii. Identify and communicate any areas of concern to your team and if necessary other key staff
