About Us

Budget Waste Management is a family-run waste management business with over 26 years of experience serving Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire. We provide skip hire, grab hire, aggregates, site tipping and waste management solutions to domestic, trade and commercial customers.

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Yard Machine Operator to join our waste management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating heavy machinery to move, sort, and manage waste materials efficiently within the yard while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Operate machinery such as loaders, excavators, telehandlers, and forklifts to handle waste materials.
Load and unload waste from incoming and outgoing vehicles.
Sort and segregate waste materials in accordance with company guidelines.
Maintain a clean, organised, and hazard-free yard environment.
Carry out daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks.
Report faults, damages, or safety concerns promptly to supervisor.
Assist with stockpile management and ensure efficient material flow.
Follow all health, safety, and environmental policies at all times.
Support other yard operations and team members as required.

Requirements

Valid machinery/operator licence (Desirable, but not essential)
Previous experience operating heavy equipment (preferably in waste management, recycling, or construction environments)
Good understanding of safety practices in industrial or yard settings.
Ability to work in a physically demanding, outdoor environment.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Good teamwork and communication skills.

Scheduled Hours: Operational hours between 7am to 5pm - Monday to Friday

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £14.00 - £14.50 per hour
