Practice Nurse – Part Time (3 Days per Week)
Days: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced, and patient-focused Practice Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team on a part-time basis, working three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) across a mixture of three sites, Kings Norton, Ashtree & Keynell Covert between the hours of 8am - 6.30pm
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a well-established GP partnership, providing high-quality care to our local population. The successful candidate will work across our three local practice sites, so flexibility and the ability to travel between sites are essential.
About the Role
As a valued member of our multidisciplinary team, you will deliver a wide range of nursing services within primary care, taking direction from the Lead Nurse, while working collaboratively with GPs, Nurse Associate, Healthcare Assistants, Clinical Pharmacists, and reception and administrative colleagues to provide safe, effective, and compassionate patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Chronic disease management, including long-term condition reviews.
- Cervical cytology.
- Childhood and adult immunisations.
- Travel health advice and vaccinations (where appropriately trained).
- Wound care, dressings and removal of sutures/clips.
- ECGs and other clinical procedures.
- Health promotion and patient education.
- Supporting patients with preventative healthcare and lifestyle advice.
- Maintaining accurate clinical records using the practice clinical system.
- Contributing to infection prevention, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives.
About You
The successful candidate will:
- Be a Registered Nurse with a current NMC registration.
- Have previous experience working in General Practice or Primary Care (preferred).
- Be confident in delivering chronic disease management and routine practice nursing duties.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be organised, adaptable and able to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.
- Be willing and able to work across all three practice sites within the partnership.
