Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated SEND Playworker to join our team, providing engaging and supportive activities for children with special educational needs and disabilities. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine passion for childcare, with the ability to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment. This role offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on children's lives through play and development, working closely with families and professionals to support individual needs.

Duties

Facilitate play sessions tailored to the needs of children with SEND, encouraging socialisation and skill development
Support children during activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
Assist with behavioural management strategies in line with individual care plans
Maintain accurate records of activities, progress, and any incidents or concerns
Promote inclusive participation in all activities, adapting approaches as necessary for each child's abilities
Foster a nurturing environment that encourages independence, confidence, and enjoyment

Experience

Previous experience working with children in childcare, nannying, teaching, or similar roles is highly desirable but not required
Experience supporting children with special educational needs or disabilities is advantageous
Knowledge of child development principles and behaviour management techniques is beneficial
A caring attitude combined with patience, creativity, and organisational skills are vital for success in this role

Pay: £9.50-£13.00 per hour
