Information about the Role

Working to the Learning and Development Lead for CT Policing, the Higher Intelligence Analyst Trainer will be responsible for the production, development and delivery of bespoke training packages to CT Intelligence Analyst and Researchers. The role will also focus on the development and implementation of defined Career Pathways to support the Professional Development of all A&R staff. There will be a requirement to work closely with partner agencies, both nationally and internationally, to ensure the CTP network is at the forefront of analytical training.

Responsibilities

The post holder will be required to do the following:

Design and develop national training programmes for CT Analysts and Researchers (including the production of a full suite of training course materials to support delivery) in order that staff are trained in the collection and analysis (using Structured Analytic Techniques) of information and intelligence when dealing with national security policing.
Support the development and implementation of career pathways for A&R employees within CTP, ensuring there is a clear and appropriate professional development process in place.
Act as a role model to both the network and other national intelligence organisations and their partners in the training of analysis techniques. Develop professional knowledge of analytical and research techniques to ensure that national developments are taken account of and best practice is maintained and disseminated.
Represent CTP on national CT analysis training matters at meetings within and outside the unit and liaise with all contacts and outside agencies in respect of analysis training activity, in order to maintain and enhance the profile of this area of work at a national level.
Maintain relationships and liaison with UK partners such as the Cabinet Office Professional Head of Intelligence Assessment (PHIA) and international partners such as the FBI to maximise training opportunities for intelligence analysts and researchers within the CT policing network.

Essentials Experience

The successful candidate will:

Be organised and able to work across several different work strands at any given time
Have excellent interpersonal skills and be a team player, able to develop and manage close working relationships with colleagues across organisational boundaries
Have strong written and oral communication skills. This includes the ability to explain complex issues and methodologies in a clear and concise manner to a range of audiences
Be able to utilise, to a high standard, IT and associated analytical software. Be capable of learning new systems to a good standard.
Be able to demonstrate an interest in intelligence and/or national security and Counter Terrorism issues.

Desirables Experience

Training qualification e.g. Level 3 AET, Level 4 CET (or be willing to work towards qualification)
Experience of successfully designing and developing courses.
Experience of successfully delivering training on complex and specialised subjects.
Experience of successfully identifying, developing and implementing new and innovative training methods.
Must be willing to travel to deliver training courses, predominantly within the UK.
