Project Management Business Partner – Building & Construction Projects

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Management Business Partner (PMBP) to support the successful delivery of major CAPEX and Building & Construction projects from initial concept and feasibility through design, execution, and final handover.
Working closely with the Project Leader and cross-functional teams, you will play a key role in establishing project governance, managing stakeholders, monitoring project performance, and ensuring delivery aligns with internal standards, safety requirements, and business objectives.

Your Mission
To support the planning, governance, and execution of building and infrastructure projects by providing project management expertise, ensuring effective stakeholder engagement, risk management, budget control, and compliance with established project management standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Governance & Delivery Support
- Support the Project Leader and multi-functional project teams in delivering projects in accordance with internal procedures and project management standards.
- Define and establish project governance structures throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide project management consulting and coaching to support successful project execution.
- Assist in managing projects from feasibility and planning through to completion and handover.
2. Stakeholder & Client Management
- Liaise effectively with clients, architects, design teams, contractors, and other key stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain regular project reporting and stakeholder communication processes.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external project partners.
3. Budget, Risk & Performance Management
- Support budget planning, monitoring, and financial follow-up activities.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor project delivery plans.
- Establish risk management governance by identifying project risks and opportunities and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Support the preparation and delivery of CAPEX business cases from approval through project close-out.
- Coordinate and support major project milestone reviews.
4. Project Monitoring & Compliance
- Monitor and validate the progress of professional service work packages and onsite activities.
- Support compliance with technical standards, health and safety requirements, security policies, and ethical guidelines.
- Ensure project management activities are delivered in accordance with established organisational project management standards.
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Produce high-quality project documentation, technical reports, cost reports, and management presentations.
- Maintain regular project status reporting and performance tracking.
- Select and implement appropriate project management methodologies and tools based on project requirements.
Required Skills & ExperienceTechnical & Professional Expertise
- Proven experience in Project Management, ideally in a senior project management role.
- Previous experience delivering Building & Construction projects.
- Experience in Capital Investment (CAPEX) projects and project delivery methodologies.
- Strong understanding of project governance frameworks and project lifecycle management.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of practical project management experience.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and coordinate multi-functional project teams, including external consultants, contract managers, quantity surveyors, and other stakeholders.
Technical Skills
Experience using project management and collaboration tools, including:
- Microsoft Project (or equivalent project planning tools)
- SharePoint
- Google Workspace or similar productivity platforms
Candidates should also be capable of producing technical documentation, reports, cost analyses, and project presentations.
Preferred Experience
The following experience would be considered advantageous:
- Delivery of large-scale building and construction programmes.
- Capital investment project management within complex organisational environments.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering and professional service teams.
- Familiarity with structured project management standards and governance frameworks.

Location Requirement
This position is based onsite in Broughton, UK, and requires regular attendance at the project location.
