The apprenticeship is a four year programme aimed at developing you into a professional aircraft technician and assisting in the delivery of a world-class engineering operation. The programme is designed to give you a broad understanding of the aircraft engineering principles whilst gaining the qualifications you need to become a future Aircraft Technician.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Working in a live hangar and workshop environment, performing general airframe fitter duties, in line with the training programme.
- Behaving safely at all times, ensuring the safety of yourself and others.
- Complying with Company operating, safety and security procedures. Reporting safety and security concerns and taking responsibility for your own actions.
- Ensuring that equipment is maintained in a serviceable, clean, tidy & safe condition; any faulty equipment should be suitably labelled and reported.
- Listening and contributing to ensure effective two-way communication.
- Remaining positive and professional at all times.
- Be willing to adapt to changing business requirements. Awareness of the overall business strategy and how your role affects and relates to it.
- Motivated and focused to achieve agreed goals and targets. Look to develop role through feedback and guidance from peers and colleagues.
- Forging good working relationships with other team members and colleagues. Sharing information and fully supporting others at all times.
- Attend lessons and exams at the Future Skills Centre as scheduled in the Apprenticeship programme, to work towards your license.
- Always striving to do the right thing, through honesty, integrity and by challenging assumptions.
HEALTH & SAFETY:
Understand individual operational safety and security responsibilities, such as:
- Being aware of personal health and safety and the health and safety of others at work. Including Management responsibilities as required by the H&S Manual.
- Being aware of aviation safety responsibilities with regards to the EAL Safety Policy. Including Management responsibilities as required by the Safety Management Manual
Being aware of aviation security responsibilities with regards to the EAL Security Policy.
