We are a busy practice who offer a dispensing service to our patients in our rural locations. We are looking for someone to work 30 to 37.5 hours a week. The salary stated is pro rata if working part time.

Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Dispensary Manager to oversee the daily operations of our dispensary. The ideal candidate will be qualified and possess strong leadership skills and a passion for providing exceptional customer service.
As our Dispensary Manager, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective functions of our dispensaries at Uffculme, Bradninch, and Sampford Peverell, fostering a positive working environment for our team.
The following are the core responsibilities of the Dispensary Manager. There may, on occasion, be a requirement to undertake other duties depending on service need, workload, and staffing levels:
Primary responsibilities
Individual Tasks
a. Line management of the dispensing team, including training, appraisals, and ensuring all team members remain competent and safe to practice.
b. Organising dispensary staff rotas, managing complex rota queries, and ensuring adequate staffing levels and service continuity at all times.
c. Attending and contributing to monthly dispensing meetings with the GP Lead, Clinical Pharmacist, Dispensing Finance Lead, and Practice Manager, and communicating agreed actions to the wider team.
d. Organising and ensuring attendance at quarterly dispensing team meetings.
e. Monitoring productivity, workload, and service performance, with forward planning to maintain an efficient and high-quality patient service.
f. Reporting significant events and near misses, undertaking analysis to identify trends, risks, and learning opportunities, and escalating concerns appropriately.
g. Ensuring compliance with the Dispensing Services Quality Scheme, Care Quality Commission requirements, and all relevant dispensing policies, procedures, and audit standards.
h. Providing timely operational information to the Dispensing Finance Lead to support financial planning, profitability, and strategic decision-making.
i. Supporting the promotion, development, and sustainability of the dispensing service, including engagement with the local community where appropriate.
j. Ensuring prescriptions are processed and submitted accurately to the NHS Business Services Authority to safeguard practice income.
k. Ensuring that all Dispensing policies and procedures are fit for purpose and adhered to
Secondary Responsibilities
a. Blister pack administration, monitoring and reporting
b. Ensuring a robust delivery service from suppliers to the dispensaries
c. Checking group tasks and delegating or actioning
d. Auditing procedures for controlled drugs
e. Ensuring stock is rotated and that the organization suffers minimal financial loss caused by stock going out of date
f. Managing the repeat prescription process
g. To be responsible for the placing, receiving, and distributing of orders required by our Nursing and Community Team
h. To be responsible for the placing of injection orders and ensuring those injections arrive where and when needed
i. To be responsible for ordering dispensing uniform
j. To be responsible for the dispensing inbox, ensuring that all emails received are actioned
k. To be responsible for the dispensing task box, ensuring that all tasks received are actioned
l. To ensure that dispensing stationery, script paper, and consumables levels are appropriate, ordering to top up as necessary
m. To dispense prescriptions and undertake other usual dispensary roles when the team is challenged by absence
n. To provide assistance to trainee dispensary staff and students, including participating in induction programmes
o. Any other reasonable task within the competency of the postholder

Essential
NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent
Knowledge of pharmacy or dispensary procedures
