Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Transport Supervisor to oversee our logistics operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the transportation fleet, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining compliance with safety regulations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in commercial driving, delivery experience, and fleet management to contribute to the efficient running of our transportation services.
Responsibilities
- Manage the allocation and rotation of vans across delivery routes.
- Ensure drivers complete daily vehicle checks and maintain vehicle standards.
- Carry out daily vehicle inspections and keep vehicle records up to date.
- Arrange vehicle repairs, servicing, and maintenance as required.
- Investigate and report vehicle damage to management.
- Recruit drivers through approved recruitment and agency partners.
- Manage driver rotas, holiday requests, and absence cover.
- Ensure all delivery routes are covered and vehicles leave on time.
- Support driver training, performance, and compliance with company procedures.
- Assist warehouse operations when required, including picking and vehicle loading.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping across the warehouse and refrigerated areas.
- Ensure deliveries are checked and stored correctly.
- Work as part of the Warehouse Leadership Team, supporting operational planning and continuous improvement.
- Assist other areas of the business as required.
- Follow and promote all company health and safety procedures.

Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver with a strong understanding of logistics operations
- Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with drivers, warehouse personnel, and clients
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Familiarity with warehouse processes and inventory management systems
- Valid driving license required
- Prior experience managing transport teams or fleet operations is highly desirable
