A bit about the role:
The Social Media/Digital Marketing Intern is responsible for planning, creating, and delivering high‑quality digital content that enhances the PECO brand, increases customer engagement, and supports key business objectives. Reporting into the Head of Publications, this position plays a key role in shaping the PECO’s online presence, ensuring that all digital channels are engaging, professional, and aligned with the marketing strategy, and offers a great opportunity to gain first hand marketing experience with an established brand.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop engaging written, visual, and video content for all social media platforms, website pages, newsletters, and internal communications such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and other platforms.
- Maintain a consistent posting schedule aligned with the marketing calendar, in line with PECO brand guidelines and audience expectations.
- Identify new trends, tools, and opportunities to grow the PECO online audience.
- Film, edit, and produce short-form and long-form video content for promotional campaigns, events, and digital storytelling in line with brand standards.
- Respond to messages, comments, and enquiries promptly, ensuring a professional and supportive user experience, monitoring customer reactions and feedback.
- Track, analyse, and report on performance metrics adjusting content approaches accordingly.
- Monitor competitor and industry activity, identifying best practice and emerging trends.
- Update website content, news stories, landing pages, and imagery.
- Draft and publish internal marketing updates and announcements as required, supporting internal branding and culture initiatives through digital content.
- Assist other departments in promoting projects and events as needed.
Skills required - we are looking for a new/recent marketing graduate with the following:
- Strong copywriting and editing skills across different content styles.
- Proficiency in video editing software (e.g. Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, Canva).
- Basic understanding of SEO and website content management systems.
- Ability to analyse data and translate insights into actions.
- Awareness of scheduling and analytics tools (e.g. Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite, Google Analytics).
- Basic understanding of brand identity and digital storytelling.
Key KPIs/measures:
- Consistent delivery of monthly content and reporting to agreed deadlines.
- Increased customer engagement rates (likes, shares, comments, video retention and followers).
- Response time to customer enquiries.
