Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Welder/Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and welding metal components, primarily using TIG welding techniques, to produce high-quality products. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in sheet metal work, fabrication, and assembly. The position involves working with various hand and power tools in a fast-paced environment, ensuring precision and safety at all times.

Duties

Perform TIG welding and other welding processes on various metals, including sheet metal, to meet project specifications.
Fabricate components by cutting, shaping, and assembling materials using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to accurately produce parts and assemblies.
Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues during fabrication and welding processes.
Measure materials accurately using basic math skills to ensure proper fit and alignment.
Assist in the assembly of fabricated parts into finished products or subassemblies.
Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety standards at all times.
Conduct quality checks on finished work to ensure compliance with specifications.

Requirements

Proven experience in TIG welding and general welding techniques.
Strong knowledge of <LOCATION> welding standards and practices.
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
Experience working with sheet metal and performing fabrication tasks.
Mechanical knowledge with the ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication work.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Good attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship.
Prior experience in assembly processes is desirable but not essential. This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to develop their skills within the manufacturing sector while contributing to high-quality production standards.
