Animal Nursing Assistant – Exeter Vets

Exeter, Devon | 30 hours per week | Permanent

Exeter Vets, a friendly and genuinely independent veterinary practice, is looking for an experienced Animal Nursing Assistant (ANA) to join our growing team.

We’re a close-knit practice where everyone plays an important part in providing excellent care to our patients and a personal, friendly service to their owners.

The role

This is a varied, hands-on position working alongside our vets and nursing team. Duties will include:

Assisting vets and nurses with the care and handling of patients
Helping with inpatient care and monitoring
Preparing and cleaning clinical and surgical areas
Cleaning and maintaining equipment
Assisting with procedures when required
Maintaining high standards of hygiene throughout the practice
Stocking and general practice duties
Helping to keep the practice running smoothly throughout the day

Hours

30 hours per week, including 1 in 5 Saturday mornings.

About you

We’re looking for someone who:

Has previous experience working in a veterinary practice
Is confident and comfortable handling dogs and cats
Is reliable, hardworking and happy to get stuck in
Works well as part of a small team
Has excellent attention to detail
Understands the importance of cleanliness and infection control
Has a genuine passion for animal care

Previous veterinary experience is essential.
