Education Welfare Advisor
This part-time (21.9 hours per week) post is available from 19th August 2026 on a fixed term basis for 12 months as maternity cover. Applications for secondments will be considered subject to agreement.
Salary will be £33,951 per annum pro rata on Grade E subject to knowledge, skills and experience.
This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.

We are currently recruiting for an Education Welfare Advisor. The Education Welfare Advisor will be managed by the Pathway Lead for Education Welfare and will work as a fully collaborative member of the Education Welfare Team; one pathway within Wellbeing Services at the University of Exeter.
This role will provide effective, professional guidance, ongoing advice and support to students on a range of issues relating to wellbeing, health and academic study, including the creation of support for study plans to help enable academic progression. We are looking for compassionate, committed and resilient individuals with an understanding of the issues facing university students and who have the required experience and skills to join this busy team.
You will provide a high level of wellbeing support and advice through the Health, Wellbeing and Support for Study (HWSS) process. You will maintain an extensive knowledge of internal and external wellbeing support services in order to support students effectively.
The successful applicant for this post will have experience of working flexibly both as part of a team and by working independently to deliver an outstanding customer service experience. You will have excellent organisational and communication skills, as well as experience of coordinating professional support for young adults with health and wellbeing needs.
