Overview
KNTC is expanding its delivery capability and is seeking an experienced Civils Supervisor to support a growing portfolio of telecoms and infrastructure projects across Somerset and the wider South West.
We're looking for a proactive leader who can maintain high standards, manage multiple teams effectively, and consistently deliver safe, quality civils work. A Full UK Driving Licence is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise civils operatives and subcontractor gangs across multiple projects.
- Ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with client specifications.
- Conduct site inspections, quality audits, and health & safety checks.
- Oversee excavation, reinstatement, duct installation, chamber construction, and associated civils activities.
- Ensure compliance with NRSWA, HSE regulations, permit conditions, and company procedures.
- Liaise with local authorities, clients, operational managers, and key stakeholders.
- Manage productivity, resource allocation, and programme delivery across sites.
- Identify and resolve operational issues to minimise delays and maximise performance.
- Complete site reports and maintain accurate project records.
- Promote a strong safety culture and high standards of workmanship.
Essential Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Previous experience as a Civils Supervisor within Telecoms, Utilities, Fibre Networks, or Infrastructure sectors.
- NRSWA Supervisor Accreditation.
- Strong understanding of excavation, reinstatement, Street Works, and permit requirements.
- Excellent knowledge of health and safety legislation and industry best practice.
- Proven ability to manage multiple teams and workstreams simultaneously.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet client delivery targets.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- SMSTS or SSSTS qualification.
- First Aid at Work certification.
- Experience working on Openreach, Virgin Media, CityFibre, or similar telecoms infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of permit management systems and local authority processes.
