Job Title: Support and Information Advisor
Location: FORCE Cancer Centre, Barrack Road, EX2 5DW
Hours: 30 hours per week, Tuesday – Friday 8.30am – 4.30pm

Duties to include but not limited to:
· Be a member of, actively participate in, and work within the guidelines of FORCE Support Services and the wider FORCE team.
· Under the supervision of the Lead Support and Information Nurse, to liaise with oncology-related MDTs who are involved throughout the patient’s pathway whilst under the care of the MDT, from diagnosis through treatment and follow-up care, ensuring that clients receive the very best service at all times.
· Provide appropriate verbal and written advice and information for service users and relatives and hospital staff, keeping FORCE colleagues up-to-date on developments in the field of cancer and treatments, and sharing relevant information and updates about relevant services at the Trust.
· Provide holistic assessments of service users, identifying and facilitating the provision of relevant psychological, social and cultural support
· Take responsibility for an informal frontline assessment of a client’s mental health, liaising with other relevant professionals and services who may be able to support them
· The post will be based at the FORCE centre in Exeter. They may go out to outreach settings and to the acute hospital to support clients when appropriate.
This role may require you to show evidence of vocational level 3 qualification or at least 2 years relevant experience.

2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation
You’ll have the following skills/experience:
· Candidate must have good organisational skills
· A positive, can-do mindset is essential for this role.
· Able to cope with an ever-changing workload.
· Competent with Microsoft Office programmes
· NHS experience (desirable)
