Full job description

Location: Sussex – travel across East and West Sussex
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. – 40 hours per week

TSS Facilities is looking for a reliable and motivated Water Hygiene Engineer to join our growing team. Previous water hygiene experience is not essential, as full training and ongoing support will be provided.

The Role

You will visit commercial, healthcare, education and public-sector properties throughout Sussex, carrying out routine water hygiene and Legionella compliance tasks.

Typical duties include:

Water temperature monitoring
Flushing infrequently used outlets
Cold water storage tank and hot water cylinder inspections
Legionella water sampling
Completing electronic reports and site logbooks
Identifying and reporting remedial works
TMV servicing following training
Maintaining excellent health and safety and customer service standards

What We’re Looking For

Full UK driving licence
Reliable, punctual and self-motivated
Good attention to detail
Confident working independently following training
Basic IT skills
Willingness to travel throughout Sussex
Previous water hygiene experience is desirable but not essential

Overtime paid at a premium rate after eight hours per day
22 days’ annual leave plus Bank Holidays
High-spec company van, generally no older than four years
Private use of the van permitted at £0.40 per mile
Paid travel beyond the first hour each way, where applicable
Full uniform, equipment and electronic reporting systems provided
Two weeks’ initial training alongside an experienced engineer
Ongoing training, mentoring and career progression
Varied work across local authorities, schools, NHS sites, retail premises and other commercial properties
