Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Subcontractor to join our team, specialising in landscape maintenance and construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in horticulture, gardening, and the use of various power and hand tools. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with mechanical knowledge and experience working with equipment such as excavators and irrigation systems. The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering high-quality maintenance and construction services across multiple sites, ensuring client satisfaction and adherence to safety standards.

Duties

Carry out landscape maintenance tasks including,turfing, pruning, planting, fertilising, and lawn care
Operate machinery such as excavators, irrigation systems, and power tools safely and efficiently
Perform general construction activities related to garden design, site preparation, and installation
Maintain gardens and green spaces by applying horticultural best practices
Use hand tools for planting, trimming, and other gardening activities
Conduct routine equipment maintenance to ensure optimal performance
Assist with specialised tasks involving mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and repair machinery
Collaborate with clients and team members to meet project specifications and deadlines

Requirements

Proven experience in landscape maintenance, gardening, or horticulture
Mechanical knowledge related to construction equipment and garden machinery
Proficiency in handling hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment such as excavators and irrigation systems
Strong understanding of garden design principles and horticultural practices
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in outdoor environments
Good organisational skills with attention to detail
Valid relevant certifications or licences are desirable but not essential
A proactive attitude towards safety procedures and environmental considerations
Ability to work independently or as part of a team on diverse projects
