Part-Time Registered Nurse – Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

About London Oxygen Centre
London Oxygen Centre is a small, friendly, family-run hyperbaric oxygen therapy clinic in Ealing.
We are committed to providing safe, professional and compassionate care. Many of our clients come to us while managing challenging health or wellbeing concerns, so we place particular importance on listening, reassurance and treating every person with sensitivity and respect.
As the clinic grows, we are looking for an experienced, dependable Registered Nurse to join our team. Full training in the operation of our hyperbaric chamber, treatment procedures and clinic protocols will be provided.
The Role
You will supervise clients throughout their hyperbaric oxygen therapy appointments and help ensure that treatments are delivered safely, comfortably and in accordance with clinic protocols.
You must be comfortable working independently, taking responsibility for client safety and escalating clinical concerns appropriately.
Working hours will vary according to client bookings, so this role would particularly suit someone who lives locally and can offer flexibility. Weekend availability and occasional holiday cover are required.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete pre-treatment checks, including recording relevant vital signs and observations in accordance with clinic protocols.
- Prepare clients, the hyperbaric chamber and treatment area before each appointment.
- Explain treatment procedures clearly and provide reassurance throughout each client’s visit.
- Supervise and continuously monitor clients during treatment.
- Observe clients for discomfort, pressure-related difficulties or other warning signs and respond appropriately.
- Operate and monitor the hyperbaric chamber and associated equipment following training and clinic protocols.
- Maintain accurate, timely and confidential treatment records.
- Recognise when treatment should be paused or stopped and escalate clinical concerns appropriately.
- Follow infection-control, oxygen-safety, emergency and safeguarding procedures.
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries while providing compassionate, person-centred care.
- Communicate relevant information promptly to other members of the clinic team.
- Prepare treatment rooms and help maintain a clean, hygienic and tidy clinic, including the restroom and outside entrance area.
- Open and securely close the clinic when required.
- Complete reasonable administrative and operational duties associated with the role.
Essential Requirements
- Current registration with the UK Nursing and Midwifery Council.
- Relevant experience within a healthcare or clinical environment.
- Strong clinical judgement and the ability to recognise and respond to changes in a client’s condition.
- Excellent attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills.
- Confidence working independently and following established clinical protocols.
- A compassionate and professional approach to client care.
- Clear spoken and written English.
- Ability to manage confidential health information sensitively and appropriately.
- Reliability, flexibility and weekend availability.
- Willingness to complete hyperbaric chamber and clinic-specific training.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- DBS clearance.
Desirable Requirements
- Current Basic Life Support, Immediate Life Support or equivalent certification.
- Experience in hyperbaric medicine, oxygen therapy, emergency care, surgical recovery, wound care or a related field.
- Experience supporting clients within a private clinic, wellbeing or complementary healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of infection prevention, oxygen safety and clinical risk management.
