Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Blind Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fitting and installing various types of blinds, Poles and shutters ensuring precise measurements and secure fittings. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in soft furnishing trades to utilise their skills in a specialised field, contributing to high-quality interior finishing projects.

Duties

Measure window spaces accurately to determine appropriate blind sizes and styles
Install a variety of blinds, including roller, Venetian, vertical, and Roman blinds, ensuring secure and level fittings
Read and interpret schematics and technical drawings to guide installation processes
Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, drills, levels, and measuring tapes effectively
Operate power tools safely during installation tasks
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects
Maintain a clean and organised work environment to adhere to health and safety standards
Assist with related construction tasks such as plastering or masonry work when required
Follow all safety protocols related to roofing, plumbing, electrical systems, welding, or other trades involved in the project

Skills

Proven experience in blind fitting or construction trades such as roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical work, carpentry, or masonry is highly desirable
Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in installation and fabrication tasks
Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately
Strong understanding of construction safety procedures and protocols
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail for precise measurements and fittings
Good physical fitness to handle lifting, climbing ladders, and working at heights if necessary
Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and clients
Flexibility to adapt to different project requirements including construction painting or plastering tasks when needed

This role is ideal for experienced tradespeople seeking specialised work within the soft furnishing industry. The position offers the chance to develop expertise in blind fitting while contributing to high-quality interior finishes.

Advertised role is currently part-time, 0-hr contract then potentially leading to a permanent full-time position.
