The Commercial Industries and Access School at Kingston College is seeking a Sessional Lecturer to teach Aviation, Cabin Crew and Travel & Tourism courses across a range of levels and to act as a personal tutor within the curriculum area.
You’ll deliver engaging and inspiring lessons that prepare learners for progression to higher education and careers in the aviation, travel and tourism industries. As the courses are predominantly coursework-based, we are seeking an innovative practitioner who can design engaging assignments that motivate learners. Following our agreed schemes of work, assessment schedules and student monitoring processes, you’ll assess learner progress and contribute to internal quality assurance and standardisation activities in line with awarding body requirements. You will also support external quality assurance processes as required.
We’re looking for a candidate with a degree or relevant professional qualification in Aviation, Travel & Tourism, Tourism Management, Airline Operations, Hospitality Management or a related discipline. You’ll hold a recognised teaching qualification, or be willing to work towards one, and have substantial experience teaching Aviation, Cabin Crew, Travel & Tourism, or related programmes, including BTEC and/or NCFE qualifications. You’ll have strong links with industry, external agencies and validating bodies, together with a sound understanding of academic quality standards. Above all, you will bring energy, enthusiasm and a genuine passion for both your subject area and education.
With high personal standards and expectations and the ability to support, motivate and empathise with learners, including monitoring their progress, you will have good planning, preparation, organisational and administrative skills, with good attention to detail.
The successful candidate will be eligible for any increase in salary as a consequence of the annual cost of living review that will be implemented in the new academic year.
