Welcome to the Moogency.
We are Mooeys, a group of seven beauty salons across the south. We are growing, we are busy, and like any busy group, sometimes life happens. Someone is off poorly. A salon has a fully booked column and no one to cover it. And we need a brilliant pair of hands to step in.
So we have built our own little agency. We are calling it the Moogency, for our Emoogencies. (We did warn you we do not take ourselves too seriously. We do take the actual treatments very seriously though.)
Here is how it works
We let you know which days need cover and where. If a shift suits you, you put yourself forward. If it does not, no problem at all. There is no pressure and no obligation. You simply pick up the work that fits around your own diary.
A little about us
Mooeys is a premium beauty group with salons in Horsham, Farnham, Haslemere, Godalming, Petersfield, Newbury and Winchester. We are not a luxury spa and we are not a budget nail bar. We sit somewhere lovely in the middle. Accessible, professional, warm and consistent.
Our team are called Moos and our community is the Herd. We are proudly female owned and we genuinely look after each other. That is the whole reason the Moogency exists.
What we are looking for
We need Nail Technicians and Beauty Therapists who are confident across a good few of these:
- Nails, manicures and gel
- Pedicures
- Waxing, including intimate waxing
- Lash and brow treatments
You do not need to be brilliant at every single one. But you do need to be strong in a few, so that we can drop you in to cover a full column and know you will fly.
More importantly, we need someone who can walk into a salon they have never set foot in, smile, and just get on with it.
You will be caring, kind and friendly. The sort of person who gets on with anyone. You will have the confidence to find your feet quickly in a new space, look after our clients beautifully, and leave the salon better than you found it.
What you will need
A minimum of NVQ Level 2 in Beauty Therapy, or an equivalent qualification.
We can also accept some short course certificates, but only where the training was completed in person. We cannot accept any online only training. Our standards matter, to us and to the Herd, so this one is not up for negotiation.
Your own car. This one is essential. Our salons are spread out and we need you to be able to travel between them easily.
The practical bits
You can work with us in one of two ways, whichever suits you best.
- Self employed. You invoice us for the hours you work.
- Casual contract. We pay you an hourly rate that includes a rounded up amount to cover your holiday entitlement.
Either way, we cover your travel expenses on top.
This is genuinely ad hoc, flexible work. It is ideal if you already work for yourself and would love to fill the quieter gaps in your week with well paid, no fuss shifts in friendly salons.
