Multi-Skilled Bodyshop Technician – Fix Auto Isle of Wight £18–£21 per hour | Full Time | 42.5 Hours Per Week
Fix Auto Isle of Wight is looking for a skilled and versatile Multi-Skilled Bodyshop Technician to join our accident repair centre team in Cowes. Fix Auto is a leading independent accident repair network, trusted by insurers, manufacturers and drivers across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technician who has developed skills across more than one discipline and is looking for a role that makes full use of that versatility.
We are looking for candidates who are competent in at least two of the following three disciplines: panel beating and body repair, MET (mechanical, electrical and trim), and vehicle refinishing. What matters is proven, high-quality experience across multiple areas of the repair process.
What you'll be doing:
- Carrying out high-quality bodyshop repairs across your areas of competence, in line with job card instructions and manufacturer repair methods
- Completing quality check sheets at each stage of the repair process
- Working closely with colleagues across all disciplines to ensure smooth workflow through the bodyshop
- Reporting any additional damage or parts requirements to the Workshop Controller
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work area at all times
What we're looking for:
- Proven experience in at least two of the following: panel beating and body repair, MET work, vehicle refinishing
- Ability to produce high-quality work consistently in a busy workshop environment
- Good attention to detail and a commitment to right-first-time repairs
- Ability to interpret repair methods, technical data and bodyshop job cards
- Full driving licence
- Your own tool set
Desirable:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in a relevant bodyshop discipline
- ATA / IMI accreditation in any relevant discipline, or actively working towards it
- Experience working within a BS10125-accredited or insurance-approved repair centre
- EV/HEV component removal and replacement qualification
