Full job description

At Honey + Harvey, we’re passionate about creating exceptional food experiences rooted in quality, craftsmanship, and community. We’re looking for an ambitious and talented Head Baker to lead our bakery operation, elevate our product offering across our four shops, and help us establish Honey + Harvey as the destination bakery in Suffolk.

This is an exciting opportunity for a baker who combines technical excellence with creativity, leadership, and commercial awareness.

The Role

As Head Baker, you will:

Lead and inspire our bakery team, developing skills, standards, and a culture of excellence.
Drive innovation across our bakery range, creating outstanding products that set us apart.
Work closely with our chefs and wider kitchen teams to develop seasonal and unique bakery offerings.
Champion the use of the very best local and regional ingredients, building strong relationships with suppliers and producers.
Ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency across all bakery production for our four retail locations.
Develop systems and processes that allow production to scale sustainably.
Play a key role in growing our wholesale bakery business, helping to strengthen profitability and support the continued growth of Honey + Harvey.
Maintain the highest standards of food safety, organisation, and operational excellence.

What We’re Looking For

Proven experience leading a bakery team in a high-quality artisan bakery, restaurant, hotel, or food business.
A passion for sourdough, pastries, cakes, and modern bakery production.
Strong understanding of bakery operations, production planning, and scaling output without compromising quality.
Creativity and a desire to continually improve and innovate.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
A genuine passion for local produce and sustainable sourcing.
Commercial awareness and an understanding of how a successful bakery contributes to a wider business.
