Alliance Maturity and Culture Lead Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell C
As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years. This role will be within the CWA Wide Section.
What will you do?
Reporting to the Strategy & Transformation Director, the Alliance Maturity and Culture Lead is responsible for driving the organisational maturity and cultural development of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance) across all delivery sections and support functions. This role ensures alignment between the CWA long-term strategic vision and operating model maturity, by managing a portfolio of initiatives that enable the required organisational development.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy Formalisation & Communication
- Design and facilitate strategic alignment workshops with leadership and cross-functional teams to build consensus on alliance direction
- Formalise the 3-year CWA strategic roadmap, ensuring coherence with maturity development objectives
- Create and communicate annual organizational roadmaps that translate strategy into actionable priorities for all sections
- Ensure strategic clarity and line-of-sight from alliance vision to section-level execution
CWA Maturity Model Development & Governance
- Establish and maintain consistency of the CWA maturity model and operating model across all sections and functions
- Monitor maturity progression and adjust frameworks based on feedback and changing business needs / Define CWA next levels maturity goals and progression pathways for each level
- Cascade the maturity framework to the delivery sections and support functions, tailoring it to their specific contexts, capabilities, and delivery timelines
- Provide advisory support and strategic guidance to sections on their maturity journeys and initiative execution
Strategic Portfolio Management
- Manage the portfolio of strategic initiatives supporting CWA maturity development
- Prioritise and balance initiatives across sections to optimise resource allocation and business impact
- Track portfolio health, dependencies, and risks; escalate issues and recommend course corrections
- Ensure portfolio alignment with maturity goals and annual roadmap
Cultural Development
- Lead the cultural development agenda to support CWA maturity growth and organisational objectives
- Shape and coordinate initiatives that strengthen behaviours, leadership expectations, collaboration, and ways of working across sections
- Monitor cultural indicators, identify risks and barriers to change, and recommend targeted interventions to sustain progress
- Ensure cultural development activity is aligned with maturity priorities, strategic goals, and the annual roadmap
What are we looking for?
Knowledge & Skills
Essential
- Experience: 7-10+ years in organizational strategy, transformation, or alliance management in complex, multi-site or multi-function environments
- Strategic Planning: Proven track record in strategy formulation, business planning, and strategic roadmap development
- Portfolio Management: Experience managing strategic initiative portfolios, prioritisation, and dependency management
- Leadership & Influence: Experience leading cross-functional strategic initiatives and stakeholders management
- Facilitation Skills: Excellent workshop design and facilitation capabilities for strategic alignment
Desirable
- Project/Program Delivery: Understanding of civil works, infrastructure delivery, or large-scale project environments
