FUXIN EXPRESS(UK) INTERNATIONAL LIMITED is a freight forwarder company based in Hemel Hempstead. We have 20+ branches in China, United Kingdom, and EU operating on sea, air, road and rail imports and exports worldwide.
We are looking for a Customs Clerk to join our growing team of customs professionals to help manage the processing of customs procedures for inbound sea or air freight containers into the UK, whilst maintaining a seamless service. As a Customs Clerk you will be required to compare international shipment data with source documents such as ship manifests, invoices, delivery packing lists, etc. and check for accuracy and re-enter data into the customs service provider software for customs clearance entry into the UK from HMRC.
You will be expected to be able to sort and verify the accuracy of data before it is entered as well as locate and correct data entry errors and so a keen eye for picking up errors or potential errors is important.
Working as part of a rich and varied team, you may also have to work unsupervised and so it is important that you are capable of self-management and be able to select materials needed to complete work assignments without the assistance of other people as you become more confident in your work.
Key skills and qualifications of a Customs Entry Clerk:
· A degree of 2nd class or higher preferably in Logistics, Operations, Economics, Business or Finance
· Impeccable attention to detail
· Proven track-record of meeting time sensitive targets without sacrificing attention to detail
· Self-starter, able to work independently and diligently
· Strong command of both numerical and verbal comprehension
· A good listener, be able to receive and decipher instructions and be able to ask relevant questions
· A good communicator and team player to work effectively with other team members and share tasks
· The ability to use logic and reasoning to identify problems or to devise solutions to problems is required
· Experienced with standard office software including word, excel and outlook to a highly proficient standard.
Responsibilities Including:
· Complete customs entries from start to finish
· Ensure a smooth and timely customs process flow is completed
· Process sea/air/road Freight Import and Export customs entries
· Ensure accurate data is entered on customs software
· Arranging documentation organisation, filing and administration
· MCP/Destin8, CCS and CNS software to complete customs entries
· Contacting importers to establish their clearance instructions
· Receipt and process of inbound EDI
