Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated School Cleaner to maintain a clean and hygienic environment within our educational facilities. This role is vital in ensuring that the school premises are safe, welcoming, and conducive to learning. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing cleaning duties efficiently and to a high standard, contributing to the overall well-being of students, staff, and visitors. Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial services is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.

Duties

Clean and sanitise classrooms, hallways, toilets, and communal areas regularly throughout the day.
Maintain cleanliness of floors by sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming as required.
Disinfect surfaces such as desks, tables, door handles, and light switches to prevent the spread of germs.
Restock supplies including toilet paper, hand soap, and paper towels to ensure facilities are fully equipped.
Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure bins are emptied frequently.
Follow health and safety procedures at all times to minimise hazards within the school environment.
Report any maintenance issues or damages to the appropriate personnel promptly.

Qualifications

Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial work is desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided for suitable candidates.
Ability to work independently with attention to detail and organisation skills.
Good understanding of health and safety regulations related to cleaning activities.
Reliable with a strong work ethic and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
Ability to work efficiently within scheduled times whilst ensuring thoroughness in all tasks.
