About the Role
We are looking for a practical, organised and hands-on New Business Projects Manager to support the planning and delivery of new projects as our organisation continues to grow.
This is a varied role for someone who enjoys solving problems, coordinating people, managing several priorities at once and turning ideas into clear, workable plans.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Managing Director, Operations Manager and wider leadership team to support new service development, operational projects, site setup and business growth.
This role would suit someone with strong project management skills, but you may also have gained relevant experience in retail management, area management, hospitality, education operations, multi-site management, business administration or service delivery.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will help plan, coordinate and deliver projects across the business. This will include working with different teams to make sure new projects are properly planned, communicated and delivered to the expected standard.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Creating and maintaining project plans
- Coordinating actions across different departments
- Tracking deadlines, risks and progress
- Following up with colleagues to keep projects moving
- Supporting the setup of new services and locations
- Helping develop clear processes and operating procedures
- Liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Supporting operational readiness before new services launch
- Producing checklists, plans and project updates
- Identifying risks, gaps and dependencies early
- Helping ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard
This is not a purely desk-based role. You will need to understand how services work in practice and be willing to get involved directly where needed.
Working Across the Business
The role will involve working across several areas of the organisation, including:
- Operations
- Education delivery
- Commercial growth
- Marketing
- Finance
- HR
- Compliance
- Site setup
- Stakeholder engagement
You will need to understand how different parts of the business depend on one another and help make sure that projects are planned realistically before they are launched.
Travel and Flexibility
This role will require flexibility and travel.
Initially, travel is likely to be between existing company sites and local project locations. As the organisation grows, the role will involve supporting the setup of new services and locations in different areas across the country.
The successful candidate will need to be comfortable travelling, working away from their usual base when required, and supporting projects directly on the ground.
Because this is a project-based role, some flexibility around working weeks will be needed. Some projects may need support during periods when education centres are quieter or during school holiday periods.
Contract and Pay Structure
This is a 42-week part-year role.
The employee will be required to work during designated working weeks only. There will be 10 unpaid non-working weeks each year during which the employee remains employed but is not required to work and is not paid.
The role is paid at £19.00 per hour, inclusive of rolled-up statutory holiday pay.
Based on 37.5 hours per week for 42 working weeks, the contracted annual gross pay is £29,925.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Highly organised
- Practical and hands-on
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities
- Confident coordinating people and actions
- Good at turning ideas into plans
- Able to work across different departments
- Calm under pressure
- Strong at following up and keeping things moving
- Detail-focused but able to see the bigger picture
- Comfortable with travel and flexibility
- Professional when dealing with colleagues and external stakeholders
Experience
Experience in one or more of the following areas would be helpful:
- Project coordination or project management
- Retail management
- Area management
- Hospitality management
- Education operations
- Business administration
- Multi-site operations
- Service launch or site setup
- Operational management
A formal project management qualification would be useful but is not essential. We are equally interested in candidates who have practical experience of making things happen in busy, fast-moving environments.
What Success Looks Like
You will be successful in this role if you can:
- Keep projects organised and moving forward
- Communicate clearly across teams
- Spot problems early
- Build practical plans and checklists
- Support new services to launch smoothly
- Help ensure consistency across sites and services
- Work flexibly and confidently across different parts of the business
Summary
This is an exciting role for someone who enjoys variety, responsibility and practical project delivery.
The successful candidate will play an important part in supporting new projects, service development and future growth. It is a role for someone who is flexible, organised, hands-on and comfortable working across different areas of a growing organisation.
