We are seeking a skilled and reliable Assembly Fitter to join our manufacturing team. This is a factory-based role focused on the mechanical assembly and preparation of conveyor systems. You will play a key role in ensuring machines are built accurately, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Working as part of a collaborative production team, you will assemble conveyors in line with engineering drawings, meet production schedules, and support our lean manufacturing and continuous improvement culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and fit conveyor systems in accordance with engineering drawings and bills of materials
- Install mechanical components such as motors, bearings, shafts, guards
- Prepare machines for internal testing, quality checks, and final inspection
- Safely and effectively use hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment
- Complete production check sheets and job documentation accurately
- Identify and report build issues, material shortages, and potential design improvements
- Support continuous improvement activities including 5S, waste reduction, and quality control
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times
- Work to agreed build schedules and contribute to achieving SQDC targets (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost)
