Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will be part of the team responsible for the following:
- Day to day monitoring and supervision of existing technical systems
- Ensuring customer specifications and statutory regulations are met
- Liaising with the production teams to achieve the highest possible standards of product quality, safety and hygiene.
- Liaising with auditors from customers and other regulatory bodies and ensuring that corrective action is implemented and maintained
- External audit preparation
- Implementing and coordinating the internal auditing programme.
- Maintaining supplier approval documentation and liaising with customers and supplier where necessary
- Any other duties as requested by management and conducive to the effective operation of the post.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Third level qualification in a food related discipline or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in quality assurance, food safety or technical supervisor role food safety or technical supervisor role
- Excellent communication skills
- Evidence of good planning, organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work as part of a cohesive team
- Some flexibility in relation to hours depending on business needs
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
- A working knowledge of current food safety standards;
- Awareness of quality management systems (e.g. BRC)
- Awareness of CCP and allergen controls.
