Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a motivated and diligent Apprentice Roof Tiler to join our construction team. This entry-level position offers valuable hands-on experience in roofing , providing a solid foundation for a career in the building industry. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of experienced professionals, gaining practical skills in roof installation, maintenance, and repair. This paid apprenticeship is ideal for individuals eager to develop their expertise in roofing. 4 days on site and 1 day off the job training.

Responsibilities

Assist with the installation and repair of roofing systems using hand tools and power tools
Read and interpret schematics and technical drawings related to roofing projects
Support the team in fabricating and fitting roofing components according to specifications
Participate in site preparation, including heavy lifting of materials and equipment
Follow health and safety protocols diligently during all tasks, including working at heights and around heavy machinery
Maintain a clean and organised work environment to ensure safety and efficiency

Qualifications

Keen interest in roofing
Basic understanding of hand tools, power tools, and construction principles is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
Ability to read simple schematics or technical drawings is a plus
Physically fit with the ability to undertake heavy lifting and work at heights safely
Good organisational skills with attention to detail
Willingness to learn new skills
Reliable with a strong work ethic and team-oriented attitude
Previous experience in construction or roofing is advantageous but not required; full training will be provided for suitable candidates
Must be willing to attend college 1 day per week

This apprenticeship offers a comprehensive introduction to roof tiling alongside broader construction skills, setting a strong foundation for future career development within the industry.

Pay: From £8.00 per hour
