Shift Supervisor
Production
Responsible for a team of Operators over different shift patterns, ensuring production targets are met in all areas in accordance with business objectives and strategic plans.
Shift Supervisor - Tier 2
Operational
· Monitor progress against targets and report to Production Supervisor with recommendations.
· Make recommendations for the running of production work cells to achieve optimum productivity, whilst developing contingency for unplanned downtime
· Understand shift data and explore trends and patterns relating to output.
· Take a proactive approach to preparing for priority orders and maintain a process for expediting requests.
· Support audit activity carried out for quality purposes.
· Work to mitigate shift issues through open communication and engagement.
· Support continuous professional development and empower team members to progress.
· Implement effective people management techniques and develop a culture of trust and confidence.
· Support the implementation of new processes and equipment through the effective communication with, and engagement of, team members.
· Enable regular communication from team members whilst ensuring resulting action is taken as appropriate.
· Have cognisance of stock levels (current and required) at any time and make adjustments to accommodate stock levels as required.
· Proactively support planned scrap reduction actions and monitor performance against targets.
· Conduct regular 1-2-1s with direct reports.

Shift Supervisor - Tier 3
Operational
· All duties set out in tier 2.
· Monitor progress against targets and take responsive action as required, whilst defining and managing own KPI's
· Liaise with the Production Controller to develop medium-term production plans.
· Report, analyse and explain production figures with recommendations for following shifts as required.
· Establish an infrastructure to support priority orders, generating additional capacity as part of workflow planning.
· Review audit results and take remedial action as applicable.
· Proactively foster positive relationships within shifts and establish team morale.
· Establish mechanisms to optimise team performance and develop collaborative working.
· Manage a team effectively and empower team members to take accountability for their own employment journey, whilst establishing goals and objectives for team members
· Contribute to SOPs and DOIs, providing assertive feedback, and look to make recommendations for development when in production.
· Secure communication from team members to establish a mutually agreeable channel for open dialogue.
· Collect and manage own data to keep abreast of scrap reduction.
· Develop own methods to achieve scrap reduction, implementing appropriate testing and consultation with the Quality Team
· Look and plan ahead for any people recourse issues and has adequate capacity to run the shift.
· Reacts quickly and effectively to any Safety, Quality and throughput issues that occur during shift.
Candidate Requirements
· All requirements set out in tier 2.
· Experience of managing a CI project
· Self-sufficient using MRP (priority)
· Ability to plan, implement and work to established training methods.
· Ability to identify problems and put countermeasures in place.
Shift Supervisor - Tier 4
Operational
· All duties set out in tier 2 and 3.
· Monitor progress against targets and identify causes of under/over performance for the purpose of achieving improvements and preventing recurring issues.
· Work with the Production Controller and Production Supervisor to develop a long-term production plan, with appropriate resilience and contingency to enable adaptation as required.
· Undertake regular data analysis and identify patterns to inform future production planning.
· Collect feedback from priority order processes and review team member behaviour that was conducive to the outcome.
· Conduct and manage internal audits in relation to quality and implement subsequent actions.
· Lead by example and aim to have the highest performing, most effective, shift in the organisation.
· Take remedial action - including formal disciplinary action - as required to enhance performance and establish incentivisation techniques.
· Support the growth and development of individual team members, whilst leading by example and role-modelling high performance
· Be accountable for the successful implementation of new processes and equipment.
· Enable peer feedback and review within the shift, and from other departments, to support open communication.
· Use the strategic scrap reduction target to devise specific targets for team members communicated through SMART objectives.
· Implement strategic actions required to achieve scrap reduction targets and conduct shift-specific activity as deemed appropriate.
· Take responsibility for the accuracy and effectiveness of SOP's, making changes as required and rolling out to team with support from Training Coordinator

Candidate Requirements
· Ability to facilitate and implement changes to improve the process using advanced problem solving and Kaizen.
· Experience of identifying a CI opportunity and developing and implementing a project task group for implementation.
· Strong analytical skills.
· Leadership Qualification.

Pay: £33,785.06-£43,285.75 per year
