Full job description

Overview
We are a growing food manufacturing company based in Nantgaredig and have been running for many years. We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Packer to join our food production team to supply our own stores. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently packing products in a safe and hygienic manner, ensuring all items meet quality standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic environment focused on food safety and quality assurance. Prior experience in food production or familiarity with HACCP principles is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. Salary based on experience.

Duties

Pack finished food products into appropriate packaging, ensuring accuracy and neatness
Inspect products for quality and compliance with safety standards
Operate basic mechanical equipment used in packing processes
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the packing area to uphold hygiene standards
Follow strict food safety protocols, including HACCP guidelines, during all stages of packing
Record production data accurately using basic maths skills for inventory and quality control purposes
Assist with stock rotation and storage procedures as required
Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors promptly

Requirements

Knowledge of food safety standards, including HACCP principles, is preferred
Experience in food production or packaging is desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided
Mechanical knowledge or aptitude for operating packaging machinery is a plus
Basic mathematical skills for counting, measuring, and recording data accurately
Strong attention to detail to ensure product quality and safety compliance
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety
Good organisational skills with the ability to follow instructions precisely
