Technician for Time Lapse Cameras for construction sites
Based at our Bristol office, we are looking for a hands-on Technician to join the Lobster Pictures team. This role is a great fit for someone coming from an on-site background who is ready to take the next step in their career. Lobster Pictures produces the world's best time lapse and monitoring camera systems and software. Our systems let people view, share and document major projects, anywhere — from everywhere.
You would be joining a small, close-knit team including Ru and Melissa, our two Operations Managers and a team of technicians with over 40 years of combined experience.
The Role
Installation, maintenance and decommissioning of time lapse camera systems throughout the country to the highest standards, providing an exceptional level of customer service at all times. This requires frequent travel to different locations and early starts depending on site requirements. Occasional international work.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- A reasonable degree of physical fitness is required - the work often involves ladder climbing to rooftops, lighting towers, tower cranes and chimneys, using heavy ballast to secure systems.
- Working safely is at the heart of what we do - you’ll need a thorough understanding of the full spectrum of risks present in our work and the measures in place to mitigate them.
- Mechanical aptitude and thorough knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Ability to assess and manage risk, follow RA/MS and demonstrate the capacity to highlight and prevent unsafe practices.
- Ability to communicate with customers and co-workers in a clear and professional manner.
- Available to work overtime, weeknights, and/or weekends on occasion.
- Must represent the company in a professional manner at all times including impeccable attitude, conduct and communication.
- Must be a confident van driver and comfortable with long-distance driving.
- Problem solving and troubling shooting as part of a team with remote support.
- Work both independently and as part of a team to complete tasks efficiently.
Essential:
- Full clean drivers licence
Desired (but not required - we’ll support your development):
- Proven history working in a similar role (labouring, operative, groundworks, or similar on-site work is ideal)
- Current CSCS/ECS Certification
- IPAF
- Basic technical understanding (cameras, mounting systems, or similar equipment)
