Duties
- Constructing, repairing, and maintaining structures using various materials and techniques
- Installing roofing systems, including fixing tiles or sheets to ensure weatherproofing
- Performing carpentry tasks such as framing, fitting doors and windows, and finishing interiors
- Conducting plumbing installations and repairs for water supply and drainage systems
- Laying bricks, blocks, or stones for walls and other masonry structures
- Operating welding equipment to join metal components securely
- Assisting with electrical wiring and fittings in compliance with safety regulations
- Fabricating custom components using hand tools and power tools as required
- Interpreting technical drawings and specifications to ensure precise execution of tasks
- Maintaining a safe work environment by adhering to health and safety protocols at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience in one or more trades such as carpentry, roofing, plumbing, masonry, welding or electrical work
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools relevant to construction tasks
- Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints accurately
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations within the construction industry
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various weather conditions
- Relevant qualifications or certifications are advantageous but not essential if experience is demonstrated
- Willingness to undertake ongoing training to stay current with industry standards
