We are looking for a motivated and reliable Groundsman to join our team on a full-time PAYE basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within a supportive and professional environment, with opportunities for further training and progression.
As a Groundsman, you will play a key role in supporting our climbers and ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of tree works. The position will involve a mixture of domestic, commercial and contract work, including supporting our London Borough ground-based tree maintenance contract.
You will be responsible for maintaining safe working areas, operating machinery and assisting the team in delivering work to a high professional standard.
- Assisting climbers with tree surgery operations.
- Carrying out ground-based chainsaw work safely and efficiently.
- Processing and managing arisings using woodchippers and other machinery.
- Maintaining site safety and implementing traffic and pedestrian management where required.
- Supporting works on local authority and London Borough contracts.
- Carrying out daily vehicle, machinery and equipment checks.
- Ensuring work is completed in accordance with company procedures and industry best practice.
- Representing Woodvale Tree Care professionally when dealing with clients and members of the public.
Applicants must hold:
NPTC (or equivalent) qualifications in:
- Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross Cutting
- Small Tree Felling
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Good awareness of health and safety practices
- Physically fit and capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions
The following would be advantageous but are not essential:
- Aerial Rescue
- Woodchipper qualification
- Stump grinder qualification
- First Aid +F
- Previous experience working within the arboricultural industry
