About Little Acorns Day Nursery
Little Acorns Day Nursery is an Ofsted-rated Good nursery located in Crowland, Peterborough. We are passionate about providing exceptional childcare and early years education in a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where children can thrive.
We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and ambitious Nursery Manager to lead our dedicated team and continue driving the nursery forward. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated leader who is passionate about achieving outstanding outcomes for children, supporting staff development and building strong relationships with families and the local community.
As Nursery Manager, you will play a key role in shaping the future of the nursery, maintaining high standards of care and education, supporting occupancy growth and ensuring the continued success of the setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the nursery team to deliver high-quality childcare and education.
- Ensure full compliance with EYFS requirements, safeguarding legislation and Ofsted standards.
- Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
- Support, mentor and develop staff through supervisions, appraisals and training.
- Build positive relationships with parents, carers and external professionals.
- Oversee nursery administration, staffing, payroll information and invoicing processes.
- Monitor occupancy levels and support the continued growth of the nursery.
- Manage budgets and support the financial performance of the setting.
- Develop and implement quality improvement plans.
- Ensure the nursery remains inspection-ready and continuously strives for excellence.
Essential Requirements
- Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years Qualification or above.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience within an early years setting.
- At least 2 years' experience in a leadership role such as Nursery Manager, Deputy Manager or equivalent.
- Excellent knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.
- Experience managing and developing staff teams.
- Good IT skills and confidence using nursery management systems and Microsoft Office.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Level 5 qualification or Early Years Degree.
- Paediatric First Aid qualification.
- Food Hygiene qualification.
- SENCO experience or qualification.
- Experience leading or supporting an Ofsted inspection.
