The Role:
We are seeking a reliable, hands-on Yard Worker to support our Driffield facility. This role combines yard duties with vehicle delivery responsibilities, ensuring smooth operations and efficient delivery of materials and finished products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain safe working practices at all times.
- Manage internal stock levels, ensuring correct materials are available for production.
- Load and unload materials, including A-frames and finished goods, using an overhead crane (training provided if required).
- Label, locate, and inspect remnants and finished goods for quality and fit for purpose.
- Prepare stock for delivery and ensure correct items are loaded onto the appropriate vehicles.
- Record and transfer remnant materials and damaged inventory appropriately.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping across the yard, storage areas, and vehicles.
- Support other team members once yard duties are complete.
Requirements:
- Experience with forklift trucks (desirable) – training can be provided.
- Experience operating overhead cranes (desirable).
- Physically fit and capable of hands-on manual work.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable team player.
- Strong verbal and numerical skills; able to communicate effectively.
- Flexible approach to work and willingness to undertake overtime/weekend work if required.
