The Role:
Working as part of the Business Development Team and reporting directly to the Commercial Manager at Sigma’s Hinckley site and supporting our Farnborough business, you will be responsible for quoting and planning of work into the business:
Key Responsibilities include:
- Provide accurate translation of customer drawings and specifications within the quotation process.
- Provide detailed manufacturing cost estimates of machined components and/or complex pipe assemblies, for the preparation of the bill of materials required for the quotation to the customer.
- Create the detailed production/manufacturing process sheets. Ensuring all processes are included and are compliant with customer contract requirements.
- Manage daily communication calls or attend meetings with internal departments, customers, raw material suppliers and service providers, to ensure that the most up to date information and questions are answered. The results of which are to be communicated within the wider team at Sigma.
- Assess product performance through margin analysis and investigate cost reduction opportunities.
- Work with the other members of the Commercial, Engineering, Supply Chain and Manufacturing and Epicor Teams to develop the quoting process to provide an accurate and user-friendly method of quote generation.
- Liaise with the other members of the team and other Sigma sites in the preparation of commercial proposals.
- Liaise with various customers in order to close out and win the work quoted.
- Support the NPI team with the implementation of awarded projects into the business through our Product life management (PLM) process.
You must have:
- Proven experience within an aerospace engineering background in fabrication and press work.
- A good understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings and complex BOM’s.
- Excellent IT skills, particularly Excel and other Microsoft Office packages, with ERP experience.
- Possess good interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively either in writing or verbally.
- Attention to accuracy and detail.
