Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Part Time Accountant to join our dynamic financial team. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing financial records, supporting financial reporting, and ensuring the accuracy of accounting processes. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your accounting skills within a collaborative environment, contributing to the overall financial health of our organization. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and eager to learn about various accounting software and financial management practices.

Responsibilities

Maintain and update financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or PeopleSoft.
Process accounts payable transactions efficiently, ensuring timely payments and accurate record-keeping.
Assist with financial reporting by preparing balance sheets, income statements, and other reports as needed.
Support month-end and year-end closing procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
Collaborate with team members to review financial data for accuracy and consistency.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff or interns when applicable, fostering a collaborative team environment.
Contribute to ongoing improvements in financial management processes and systems.

Requirements

Proven experience working with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or PeopleSoft.
Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and practices within the financial services industry.
Familiarity with accounts payable processes and general ledger management.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a part-time role.
Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively within a team environment.
Knowledge of financial management tools and techniques to support accurate reporting.
Prior experience mentoring or guiding colleagues is a plus but not required.
