Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Childcare Practitioner to join our vibrant team. As a setting proud to hold a 5-star Care Inspectorate report, we maintain the highest standards of early years education and welfare. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children, supporting their developmental needs through engaging activities and personalised care. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about early childhood education and working with young children. The Childcare Practitioner will play a vital role in upholding our award-winning standards, fostering positive growth, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory safety and care benchmarks.

Responsibilities

Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development
Supervise children during playtime, meals, rest periods, and organised activities
Maintain a safe and hygienic environment in accordance with health and safety regulations
Support children's individual needs through personalised care plans
Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and daily activities
Assist in the organisation of nursery routines and educational programmes
Ensure all activities comply with childcare policies and procedures
Contribute to the ongoing development of the nursery’s programmes through innovative ideas and feedback
Flexible with working days and hours

Qualifications

Level 3 SVQ in Childcare or equivalent
Proven experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development stages
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
Organised with the ability to multitask efficiently within a busy environment
