At Sopra Steria, our Security Operations Centre (SOC) protects some of the UK’s most critical organisations. As a SOC Engineer, you won’t just support security—you’ll enable it.
You’ll design and maintain the monitoring and protective tooling that keeps our analysts one step ahead of threats. It’s hands-on, fast-paced, and genuinely impactful work—where your contributions directly strengthen national security.
You’ll be surrounded by specialists across engineering, architecture and operations, giving you real room to grow your cybersecurity career.
Location: Hybrid – 2 days per week in Farnborough or Hemel Hempstead.
Clearance: Must be eligible for SC Clearance.
What you will be doing:

Deploy and support security monitoring tools feeding into the SOC.

Ensure tooling is optimised and actively protecting client environments.

Collaborate with teams to assess risks and design effective security controls.

Support senior engineers across SIEM, threat intelligence and malware platforms.

Apply updates, manage changes and follow robust operational processes.

Stay ahead of emerging threats and drive continuous improvement.
What you will bring:

Strong grasp of information security fundamentals.

Experience with Splunk or Sentinel.

Familiarity with security monitoring and protective technologies.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.

A logical, analytical approach to problem-solving.

Confidence planning work and influencing technical teams.

Solid organisational skills with a focus on delivery.

CompTIA Network+ (or equivalent knowledge).
It would be great if you had:

Experience with Azure or AWS security features.

Broader SIEM experience (especially Splunk).
